Somewhere out there.
Having been tinkering for a while and servicing my gs I was never that keen on the Remus and K&N filter.
The bike ran fine and better since being serviced and better still with Steptoes cat code mod but I thought I'd try the original can with the decat and a standard air filter. Having read about back pressure I thought I'd give it a go. Tbh I was concerned about running lean.

Well the difference was somewhat astounding. On pulling away and giving the bike some beans the front wheel stated skipping off the Tarmac something that it had never done before.
The bike seems to pull harder than before and still has as much torque as it did

Well impressed. Ran it with and without cat code plug and very little difference so I have left it out as that is the motec setting for de cat and standard pipe

Anyone else had similar?

Downside 2.5-3k rpm hear a vibrating. Start to get worried thinking its something horrid. Get home to find top right engine bar fixing has snapped. Least it's nothing serious. Remember seeing it on this site somewhere.

Anyone know if they weld up ok. Won't be me doing it, will get a grownup to do it..

Thats the setup i run on mine

I get around 55 to the gallon pulls nicely and no bother.I also use steptoe mod, ive also got a can extension to clear the pannies, and it runs very nicely.
The y piece fits on the std can perfectly, and the plugs are a nice tan colour.
I also got rid of the remus,i got fed up with the noise.
If you the run the remus with the baffle in, thats ok, with good fuel consumption.I couldnt fit the remus with the cajas, as it wont fit in the pannier cutout.P
oh and if you have the std adv crash bars they always break, theres a fella in 7oaks who will tig it for you for about a tenner.

That setting list is for chipped motronics :blast

:banghead: i give up.

How does that figure then when loads of people on the other thread have said they haven't got a CCP or they brought brand new bike from dealer in UK with de-cat pipe done at point of sale and CCP was removed or there wasn't one. I wasn't referring to the setting list I found on adv

I think he's talking about the 'list' of what the various pins do... the 'list' is for a chipped bike.. not the standard.

Its a case of suck it and see

There is obviously a protocol of which bikes need what,I suggest you try ccp in and out.

runs very similar with no ccp jumper and the mod.
Haven't put the yellow one back in and there is no desire to.
Will give it a good run with both options and see how it behaves.

Would be nice though to find a definitive guide as to what config does what.
