I need to change the clutch slave cylinder on my 1150; got the shock off ok, but i cant get enough purchase with a round-headed hex key on one of the bolt heads to shift it (its been in there 11 years). I need to remove the cross-member that's in the way to get at it. So I think I need to take the subframe off or swing it up out of the way. Tricky or not? Or is it time to call in a grown-up? Help please!?

It's easy enough but don't overlook the small bolt at the back of the airbox:thumb

I'm pretty sure though, you should be able to get at the bolts without lifting the subframe.

I thought so too-but its not going to happen! Got the subframe up (thanks for the top tip about the hidden bolt) now I've got to get the cross-piece off between the footpegs. I think/hope its just a tap out?

Thanks, i was hoping it was something simple like that. I think the gods of corrosion might be against it being quite that straightforward but I live in hope...
