I've always thought an 1150GS without a screen looks unfinished, a little underdressed, so last weekend I introduced my screen to the bandsaw and made a little "fly" screen.
The top of the screen when in the tilted back position is now about 70mm higher than the top of the silver binnacle cover, following a similar profile to said cover. Looks the business !
Took the bike for a ride and discovered it was very similar to riding without a screen fitted. By lifting myself about 75mm off the seat my helmet entered that lovely turbulence-free smooth airflow we all seek but can't find on the GS. (180cm tall, 120kph). Haven't tried it with the Tobinators fitted yet.
So near and yet so far !
Looks like it's back to the MRA ........
