If anyone is looking for a great four days away, with excellent roads and a visit to the Nurburging lobbed in you might do worse than trying this out.
DAY ONE – Saturday
Train at 08:40
Calais to Bouillon, on the borders of Belgium and Luxembourg
About 280 miles from central London. We arrived at about 17:00, having had one 30 minute fuel stop
and a separate one hour + lunch stop by the river at Givet in the French Ardennes.

Bouillon, in the Belgian Ardennes, is an attractive town, on the river Semois.
There is a wide choice of hotels and restaurants, with enough to suite every taste and pocket. We stayed at the Poste hotel, near enough in the centre. EUR 85 per night for a twin room (42.5 per head) including breakfast.
As there were 11 of us we hired two car parking spaces in the hotel’s underground car park, at just over a Euro a head per night.

DAY TWO - Sunday
Bouillon to the Nurburgring.
We had hoped to do the ‘Ring on Monday but it was shut for a private session. Sunday, with the excellent weather, meant it was crowded in both the car parks but once on track it was fine.
The ‘Ring is about is about 145 miles from Bouillon, via the scenic route, taking about three hours. We left at 09:00, had a half hour drink stop and were out on the track by about 13:00.
We each did three laps and had plenty of time to do more. However, on our third lap, the was a British Skooby Do with its engine bay nicely on fire, half way around the track. The circuit was then closed for an hour and only then reopened for cars, oil being dumped on the circuit.
DAY THREE - Monday
Ride-out from Bouillon to Givet and back.
This was an all day, ride of about 200 miles, bringing in most or all of the twisty, climbing and falling roads in the area.

DAY FOUR - Tuesday
Bouillon to London.
We left at about 10:00, arriving just in time to sneak on the 15:15 train. Or at least some of us did. We were booked on the 15:50 but all the barriers were up, so we simply rode up the lanes and onto the earlier train. Happy days.
Back home in central London by 16:30 English time.
A round trip of about 1,100 miles, all in excellent weather. At least 23c every day, from the moment we left, to coming to my front door on the return.
Super roads, great views a nice hotel, plenty of scoff and beers, all with a track day lobbed in. You could do worse!
