Ginsters made a series of telly adds showing their pies being made by Elves. Sigh, it really put me off - never eaten once since .... :(

Come off it, Wapping. You will be trying to tell us they sell petrol next. I have just spent a fortune on my auxiliary fuel system too, and it looks great behind the GS.

So...............what does the miracle oil do then?

Reverse the signs of ageing?
Heal fatal wounds?
Cure FPC failures?
Stop Proff smelling of wee?

Surely 'Xtra Grip' can't be right for an oil

It's probably a shortening of the French word, Grippe. Which means, 'To seize up' :D

That just made me spit out my coffee - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Brilliant.

10/50 oil

10 / 50

I hope you're not using 10/50 in your GS

Andres

Why would you not use it in a GS? Mines just had it's 1200 mile service at Charles Hurst (Main Mottarad dealer) and they put "Castrol power 1 racing 10/50" in. Apparently BMW now reccommend fully synthetic oil in all thier bike engines.

You are starting to drift into "What oil?" territory.... take care.

I think Mr Outtomunch may have been having a teeny weeny joke ;)

........always wondered what those French bods used to lube their bikes - assumed they used their own natural resources:

:blast sorry ,oil thread,
when im back off tour ,mid june my gs1200 will be due its 18000 and i asked my dealer about the choice of 20w/50 or 10w/50 and its not compulsery to use liquid gold its your bike ,your choice, also if you have a leak via gasket itll piss out quicker!!!!
10w/50 is desighned for high revving engines being fully sinthetic it would be reasonable to use if bmuw would then say oil service is now extended to 10,000 instead of the 6000 or even 12,000 as its fully sinthetic after all :D:D
:blagblah:blagblah:blagblah :green gri

No more technical discussions please........although Wapping started it :D
