A new pup saying hello from down under

I can't really say G'day, but I can say with conviction 'Good day me ol booties' as I'm originally from Plymouth and sneaked off to live in the country with plenty of sun and space way back in 1991.

My 1st bike when I arrived in this rather large country all those many moons ago was a Beemer K100LT. How things have changed since as I now have just got back into the saddle again after 16 long years spent in 'dream-time.' The wait has been worth it though, I think, maybe (ish) as I am now one very chuffed and spoilt hubby with R1200GS after much pestering and most probably a tincy wincy bit of brainwashing to boot!

Anyway, I must say I'm a lucky devil as I live in the South East corner of Qld which has some some magnificent rides on my doorstep; all to be eagerly explored.

Still miss the Motherland a little and especially the unique 'pommy' sense of humour, so now I've joined this site I feel a wee bit closer to home again...

The UKGS'ers site looks like a fun and interesting place likewise are some of the charecters I've read about:)

Cheers for now
Terry

PS. Anyone help; I cannot get our little smily friends to download to my introduction which makes me quite :-(

When you type a post, if you look to the right of your page you'll see most of the little smiley icons (there's others listed if you click on the word 'more') ... just click on any one of them it should appear in your text where your curser lies.

You can preview the post before hitting the submit button

Hope that helps. If not give another shout.

:)

Hi Digger,
Always weary when it comes to the Northerners; one evil little chum even followed me out to Perth, so when he arrived I quickly legged it to the other side of Oz otherwise I would have ended up talking double dutch like him:yelrotflm

look out for the northern ones, , welcome:D

Hi Cocokid,
Hey small world and a small city! Is your family who live in Brisbane originally from Plymouth too? I live down the road on the Gold Coast and my wife commutes to Brissy each day for work:moped:

Hi Smilee Mark, Us Pomms have the only real great sense of humour, otherwise we would have kept all the villains in the UK and shipped the good one's out here to Oz all those years ago:blast

G,day , I think they tolerate us expats here, sometimes i am not sure or is it that English humour?:):beerjug:

Hi Mandylicious,
Well I'll have to agree with you there; my better half still loves me and its not because I have the Elvis looks (Well, I don't think I do:guitarist:augie) so I must be making her chuckle still:)

Hi again, my family emigrated to Brisbane in 1973 (ten pound poms) I was serving in the army at the time so ended up in blighty where I met my wife, been in Hampshire ever since, though we all lived in plymstock ,Plymouth for about seven years--I still get the urge to ride my gs to Jennycliff and Bovisand beaches where I spent my mis-spent youth! My dad was head guard at Brisbane gold reserve bank before he died in 02 regards Dave.
