A nice change from crap customer service

I've bigged up this company before, as has Judge, but we hear so much about crap service these days that a positive expereince is worth commenting on :thumb2

I had a problem this morning with a Mysql database on my new improved shiny website (not live yet, you'll see it at the weekend ;)) that looked like it might be corrupted :eek:

I raised a ticket with the hosting company, Fast2host- I could have had a live chat with one of their techy types but I was flitting around doing something so a support ticket was a better option (have to say that the last two times I've used the live chat support, I was in and talking direct with a real person within seconds and they sorted me out within minutes, so top marks there as well)

Within two minutes of posting the query I had an answer back, from Steve himself , who over the next few minutes helped me out and also pointed me in the direction of a better front end for poking around in the Mysql dbase (HeidiSql to be exact) and then went above and beyond by doing a back-up of the current Dbase right then for me (it's done every night anyway, which I didn't know to start off with but this was instant service which was rather nice :))

All in all, it was quick, efficient and personal , and the fact that it's not an anonymous American company but a UK based one run by a Tosser from here only makes it better :thumb2

So if you're looking for a decent UK web hosting company who you can actually speak to and (Steve will probably grimace at this bit but who cares ;) ) ask daft "what oil" type questions to (I've been on a steep learning curve and they've not even blinked even though I guess on reflection I've asked some pretty basic questions) and still get things resolved really well, Fast2Host get another nod of approval here :thumb2

PS Steve doesn't really look like the picture on his site, but if you're talking to him via email or in the support chat, you could always imagine ;)

Their accounts department seem pretty on the ball too, when, for some mysterious reason, my regular credit card payments to them didn't work and I made a mistake on the manual payment, they were very quick to sort it out.

You'll have to give me a clue as to who you are, as we don't seem to have any payments from a "Mr Shugie" :D
