Four of us on GS’s took a few days and rode down through WV to eastern Kentucky and south east Virginia. It felt great to get out and ride and the weather couldn’t have been better for us. Much of the grit is getting washed off the roads and leaves are coming out this time of the year. We based from a state park at the Virginia/Kentucky line, riding around on little roads all day and sitting around the camp fire at night enjoying beverages. A GS makes a perfect bike for this as it's easy to pack camping gear yet they're so nimble on little curvy roads. I only took a few pictures but thought I’d share them.

Nice pictures mate. It's good to get out and about.

its what makes it all worthwhile, whichever country you are in, I had a relaxed bimble along the coast locally yesterday, sun on face and a nice crab sandwich in Blakney!!

Thanks Mr K. It was also the first real ride on my 2012 GSA, having come from a 09 GS. With the wider front and larger shield the GSA seems to split the difference between an RT and GS. I can feel the increased weight but once moving it's not as noticeable. Nice having the larger capacity top load bags and never having to pay attention to the gas gauge. I do use more gas because I'd record 42 mpg when the 2012 R1200GS was getting 48. Hopefully mpg will improve a little after some more miles.

You're right. :D Unfortunately riding along a coast isn't something I get to do very often.
