I went up into Perthshire today to recce an area for one of the Ride Outs at the Gathering of the Clans. The area is north of Blairgowrie and near Bridge of Cally. I spent a wee while in there and reckon it'll be OK for our needs. I'm going to have another go again before the Clans event becasue I didn't find the exit route I was looking for. It came on pissing with rain and I didn't want to risk an off on the grassy/mossy tracks when I was on my ownio. I spent over an hour in the area which used to be used for Scottish Rallying and covered over 14 miles. Here are some pics althoug TBH they don't do the area justice. Some of the more muddier, harder core bits were a bit iffy to stop for photos on.

In truth, it's probably not the most exciting off road route ever discovered but it isn't too difficult and is do-able with road tyres so it might appeal to some of the folks who are less experienced than the Oonyacks and Forries :thumb2 It's also an improvement on the off-road run at last year's GOTC :)

Well done Ronnie - It looks great - count me in! (or off as the case may be!!). :thumb2

Makes it that much easier for people to admire the views.

Is it doable two-up Ronno?

Hope Mandy disnae see this.

I suppose it would be Aidan but I won't get the chance to test it...:nenau

The tracks are fairly wide in most part so if you went with Mandy on pillion and found it getting too hard (oo-er) you could easily about turn and head on back :thumb2

Should be alright if it's dry on the day and for a few days beforehand. What's the chances of that then?

:D:D

Looks like it'll be good craic on the track.:thumb

Looking forward tae it, ye didnae mention that there are wee tracks going of the main ones, so when I come down we'll explore them and see if we can come up with something a wee bit oot the ordinary:D

Looks like the A838 to Durness to me.. except i can't see the passing places
(what a road though :):))
