Took a run up to Ullapool yesterday, and back today...........

It seems like my R-1 is an easier bike to ride (less effort) , or maybe it depends upon the speed you are doing?

Anyway, had a good run up, via Crieff, Tyndrum, Glencoe, Ft William, Dornie and Garve. (back the same route)

Stayed in the Arch Inn (a wee bit pricey for single occupancy - £85  ) but next time would try for the Ladysmith Guest House, which looks good.

Had a cracking run home today - the A87 between Sheil Bridge and Invergarry - is absolutely stunning, with good smooth tarmac, rather than the broken surfaces on some of the roads.

Late lunch on arrival in Ullapool

Popped in to see GC en-route home - the soup was an excellent "Pea and Ham" :thumb2

Lunch in Lochy Inn, Nr Ft William

The A87

No photos en-route........... Once the tyres were warm - the roads were too good :D

Quite a few good places to stay there especially if you stay off the seafront. Riverside is a nice one, good off road parking and not too far to walk back
And plenty places to eat and drink, nice wee town

Nice roads up there and along the top Kinlochbervie to Thurso I took a photo of a field leading down to Canisbay church it sparked a (I've seen that before thought) Sure enough found old photo of grandad behind some horses ploughing that same field, nothing had changed. Must be a good life to have a little croft up there nowadays if you've the money. Well maybe the weather! It's funny though wild and wooley in places but it has a call on you.

Hi stayed in the ladysmith guest house,
Does the owner still have his gold plated bike ? Frame.
Think it was a gold wing

No idea - I stayed in Arch Inn, but would go for Ladysmith next time, I think.

Might get back up there at the end of this month, unless the weather is pish.
