just got back from a 9 day blast to the Pyrenees, camped all the way down and all the way back... into spain for a few days as well....observations:
My Arse hurt.... need to sort my seat out!
My credit card (BarclayCard) did not work in any of the automated petrol stations. ( I had called BC b4 leaving to tell them where i was going!)
I stayed off the Motorway and stuck to RN!
it did not rain, this is a first for me!
French Drivers on the whole like and respect Motorcyclists, the same alas cannot be said for Spanish drivers who (IMHO) do not give a feck!
My Arse hurt
The roads are truly stunning, as is the scenery, its great watching it change as you had south..
The Spanish side is very rocky, dusty and wild, the french side Green, and as you would expect near perfect!
the campsite's are great, i can recommend OrphoNegro just north of Bergerac.
My Arse Hurt
i was warned by at least five approching cars of the three speed traps we went through ( Multiple flashes)
all bikers wave or give "victory" salute from Sports Bikes to Harleys,... no "brand" snobbery!
unleaded can be chuffing expensive in Elan petrol stations at 1.44 euros a litre
supermarkets cheaper at 1.29 but cursed by automatic pumps... Spain is Muchos cheapos... and the calimari was great....
the GS attracts a lot of attention from passing locals,....most marveling that somebody could get it onto the centre stand!!....
i loved every minute of the 1989 miles....... but my arse still hurts..
