I have an 1150 gs year 2000 the abs has been fine then it paced had it checked and there is a fault on the pump question is do i get a new pump or just use it as it is!!

ABS

Just use it abs is a pain at the best of times, we have all ridden bikes for years without abs and all survived ok (most of them had better brakes anyway).

Another option is to check if the relay in the pump unit is the problem. Remove the plastic cover on the ABS pump body and check it - A main dealer very very very rarely tries to repair an ABS pump.

If you want to stop the ABS lights flashing just remove the ABS relay in the relay/fuse box.

my ABS not working.

had flat battery on my gs & ABS stopped working, lights flash no clunk when moving off. took to deal BMW woolaston, TOLD ME PUMP & MODULE kaput. bike only done 21000 mile although 9 years old & owned from new.they want £1500 to fix! is this a faulty product on this range? should I contact BMw to see about some sort of help toward the cost as faulty product? 21000 miles is not a lot of use, if normal use is about 10.000 a year this has "only" done 2 years worth of biking. any help greatly received.

Your very unlucky to have an ABS unit fail, they're usually ultra reliable.

A good used ABS unit supplied and FITTED should cost around £300-£400 all in.
