Just collected a P reg (1997) R1100GS- brilliant!!
However, there's a bit of a 'light show' on the ABS instrument panel:

One run- lights went off
Another- lights flashed one, then the other
Another- they both stayed on

Also, I thought I'd switch the ABS off while riding, the rocker switch didn't seem to want to stay in an 'off' position.

Any advice, please!

It's not an on/off switch in the normal sense of the word. It's mainly used for resetting the ABS ecu and diagnostic work.

ABS

The ABS is very sensitive to low voltage during the check-out session. On my bike ( needs a new battery) I wait about 5-6 sec. before starting ( and without driving lights or heating elements). This leaves the lights blinking at the same rate. The lights usually goes out after driving a few meters. If the bike has been unused for a while it needs some driving to get the battery recharged and then the same procedure to get those f.......... lights out!

Many Thanks, lads.
Advice from Roy at RGM Croston, and a new battery, helped, too...
