ABS LIGHTS & SERVO QUESTION 9/8/05

1150 ABS 2003 bike. First time used for 9 days, started OK this morning. 23 miles to work, then back. Started bike again,top ABS light would not extiguish. Rode off, no servo assistance. Stopped engine, started again, exactly the same. 3rd time, drove off, 110 yards later light went out. Since then been OK.
Now got a bee in my bonnet about the ABS light sequence.
Ignition on, bottom light on, top light flashes, then flashes faster, bottom light goes ot, start bike. Is this right? I thought that the top light flashed at a constant rate and did not change?

What about the servo not working, is the battery on the way out?

Tail light blown?? Difficult to tell because the clever electronic-trickery switches the filaments in the bulb to cunningly disguise it.

I,ve had the tail light blow problem before. it is not that. BUT, I'll check it anyway,as when it happened before it was intermittent.

Doesn't explain the lack of servo though?
