Hi all

Stupid question, to some extent, but how can I be sure my ABS is working on the front?

The bike ('04 GSA) seems to go through its self-test etc when I turn the ignition on and the warning lights to behave as I have read they should, but............the ABS on/off button on the right handlebar cluster doesnt seem to do anything :nenau. I dont want to 'test' the front ABS in an ermercency brake test sort-of-way (I have tried a few times, but not sure I was committed enough) but I know the rear is working OK, so how else can I tell if I have a problem with the front ABS (or perhaps the button is just fcuked?)

If you haven't got any flashing lights it should be working. The first time I tried mine I just grabbed a handful of front brake, it worked and I didn't fall off :D

You need to hold down the ABS button while switching on ignition and wait for the warning light to stay lit, then let go of the button and the ABS is turned off.

Ahhhh......that makes sense. I knew I couldn't disengage it while on the move, but thought that I should be able to when stoppedd. That I didn't know there was such a masonic procedure to follow can (only?:blast ) be explained by me never having had a users manual for the beast......!

I'll try it!
