I was reading something on another forum last night, and having been made redundant my brain has plenty of time to mull over nonsense.Having only ever rode an Airhead with Bing carbs I wondered does the fitting of Dellorto pumpers or Mikuni's make a noticeable difference to acceleration / performance of an Airhead ?

I am sure there will be many on here that have the knowledge to comment!

Please let's hear the collective otherwise I won't be able to sleep again tonight unless I have at least 6 pints of Exmoor Gold and Mrs Bomber says I can't afford that these days !!!

Exmoor Gold :drool

I've got a set of Dellorto Pumpers I as going to fit on my Mono, unfortunatly I keep kicking them off. The float bowl is too close to the footpegs :(

Rob.

Pm sent, it could be 6 pints of Combine Harvester- very nice !!

I find my GS 80 much more responsive on the Dellortos than my 100GSPD their feels to more punch off the bottom. OMHI. I will be changing them on my PD to Dellortos as I find the Bings a PITA to many fiddley bits and block up too easily.

Bings are horrid:hide I have fitted mikunis, much better all round. I dont know how good bings are when brand new but I think they are slow to respond even after a rebuild, Allens performance specialises in them but there is a chap in the US, Rockypointcycles, who does BMW kits.

i my experience, they will make your airhead scream but drink the fuel, if you punch it allot, which is the tendency with a hotter bike.:D but i have found that elevation change is were the bings shine, without rejetting, like 2000 ft. to 6000 ft. and higher is some places. i am looking for a set of dellortos to fit to my 77 rs, though, to try. we have an r80st with mikunis and it is very peppie but not much more than a properly jetted 32mm bing.

cheers
