Mrs B and myself are off to Spain next weekend, we have our first night (Monday) sorted, hotel near Jaca. We will be following the N260 down towards the Med, then down the coast to arrive in Almeria on the 17th (Thursday) for a weeks relaxation.
We are looking for accommodation for Tuesday and Wednesday night's somewhere along the route. Not sure of daily travel distances.

On our return journey we will travel North, taking in the N502 to the West of Madrid, then through the Picos De Europa. Again, any suggestions for accommodation on this route and any highlights we should not miss.

Any recommendations please, that fulfill the usual requirements i.e. good food, secure parking, good value etc.

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

N260 route & B&B

Chris,
If you're looking for a days ride heading East from Jaca I'd recommend a good cheap English-owned biker friendly B&B, 15 miles west of Perpignan with lock up garage and great food:thumb2 Web site is http://www.coupdecoeur.co.uk/

I had a great day riding westward on the French N115 and Spanish N260, passing through Jaca before heading back north into France. It should be just as good heading the other way! Great mountain views and the N260 is windy and interesting with a great surface so you can see the country but still make good progress. Proprietors are Nigel and Maz. I don't think you'll be dissappointed by the roads or the hospitality.

Have a great trip. Spanner

If it fits in with your journey down the N260 - I would definitely recommend you stop at Ainsa - a beautiful little medieval town perched on a hill next to a huge national park - I stayed there last month at the http://www.hoteldosrios.com/index.asp?lang=2
the manager Louis was very helpful, rates are very reasonable and as he likes bikes he will give you free underground secure parking...

Have a good time and ride safe...

Thanks

Off today ! and thanks for the tips guy's. We've looked at the web sites, and noted the adresses (we'll see how they work in with our daily mileage) but as a treat we have booked ourselves an overnight stop at a Parador.
Thanks again,
Chris & Val.
