There's a gang of 7 of us heading up to finish off the remaining Ulster points on the Irish Photo Rally and were planning on B&B-ing it up around Moville. Has anybody got any other suggestions for somewhere to stay thats reasonably priced and close to a pub etc... all the places Ive tried can't take our whole group or are in the middle of nowhere.

Camping in not an option this time round as I'm the only one with a tent at the mo and its only a 3 man!!

Is there much happening up around Malin Head or is it a bit of a'ghost town'??

We are heading up on Sat 7th Sept.

Thanks
Dave

Stayed at Inishowen Gateway before & it's alright but a bit soulless & fairly quiet. The barman was the only one in the bar all evening.....

Stayed here before. Lovely spot overlooking the bay, friendly hosts who will leave you alone to use the facilities, make your own tea, etc. Only downside is it's a bike ride to 'town'.
But there's a good restaurant here. And I've just realised they do accommodation too :blast

choice of family rooms , private room , Or Dorms.

Talk to Angela.
10 Minutes walk outside Buncrana , in a really nice setting.

Happy days 'oh civil one' :P

This place looks like a runner :thumb . The group seems to be expanding by the day so I'm waiting on a proper headcount before I book. The fact we're parked outside of the main 'hub' is a bonus too and I'm sure a 10 minute walk would be welcomed by all after 6 or 7 hours in the saddle!

I'll hopefully be booking by thursday.

Cheers
Dave

P.S. - Do you know Angela well?? Its just that they say on the site about 'no stag parties'. Its not a stag party but I'm sure she would be aprehensive about a group of 10 or so lads turning up on motorbikes too!! :friday:friday

Hi Dave, that's a good choice for the accommodation. I'm sure there'll be no problems with 10 or so bikers arriving just let her know in advance.

Buncrana has a few decent pubs and are essentially in or around the main street which is within walking distance of your accommodation.
- O'Flaherty's, on left going up the main street
- Roddens, on the right on lower main street
- The Cottage, a bit more sedate but still a good pub, on left on lower main street.
You could a little further and try the Drift Inn, good beer, good food and a good sat nite atmosphere. It's on the edge of town only a short walk from the main street. You'll pass this on the way into Buncrana.

Enjoy :beer::beer:

Will i make the call ?

No need, I confirmed the booking last night with Tina. Thanks for the offer anyway.

Cheers for the heads up about this place. It looks fantastic and at €15 per head per night its really suiting most of the lads limited budgets. And for me, its a tank of juice cheaper than the cheapest hotel nearby :thumb

Ill let you know how we get on.

Thanks again
Dave
