Hi Folks

Off to North West Spain in June on the Santander ferry. Anyone ever stayed in Lastres on the coast westward towards Gijon? Looking for some hotel or BnB recommendations. Looks like a nice little place on google maps. I fancy a first night stop on the coast - can almost smell the sea from here. :Motomartin

Cheers,
Tim

Ribadesella is very close and a great place to stay, Lastres is a bit difficult imo. what with the steep roads, traffic and tourists.

Ribadesella Playa, right on the Prom on a lovely beach, and a great youth hostel beside it, if you want to go cheap for two days.

Villo Rosario is more expensive, but they have a 2nd house over the road, awy from the beach
www.ribadesella.es has all the info.

enjoy the holiday, wish I could come along

Hi Josey

Thanks for the info. Ribadesella looks great on google maps and is a bit nearer the ferry, so I'll take your advice mate. I'll check the websites and get some accomodation booked.

Shame you can't make it - I'd be keen to meet up with anyone who's there in early June. Next year maybe?

Cheers again for the advice!:thumby:

if you have any questions?

Hello Tim,
de nada.
If you have ay questions about Riba, ask.
I was there a few times, but without a bike, more walking in the mountains and hanging about the beach.

There are some more hotels off the town, more rural so to speak.
The prices might not be much lower than the Ribadesella Playa though.
The jefe in the the Playa is Ricardo.

Rosaria2 seems to be cheaper than RP and is about 100m further along the beach.

Another Beach is Don Pepe, Verdemar is behind the Prom, but you can still hear the waves.

If you want to shrink the budget, you could do worse.

the good thing here is that you can use the washing machin to freshen up the smalls.

I usually went to the Sidria Carroceu

Tapas style food, fish, jamon, shellfish chicken, chops

enjoy
