Accomodation St Moritz

We are passing through St. Moritz on route to Riva and was wondering due to the fact St. Moritz is predominately a skiing area (i appreciate the place doesnt shut down) if accomodation will be readily available in the first week of August and if it is reasonably priced ?

If you're looking for something cheap, there's a B&B in Samedan, just a few km's from St. Moritz. Or the Hotel Post in Samedan, also reasonably priced.
In St. Moritz self I don't even dare to stop and have a drink.

Indeed. As Phluppe says - avoid the Tourist prices in St.M.
35 minutes or so down the road is Chiavenna in Italy where they take proper money (ie Euro) and things are cheaper. Can't recommend a place to stay since around there I stay in Mandello del Lario as a base - being a former Guzzi service bod.

I thought it was a sh1thole... Livigno is only a bit down the (very very nice) road..

stayed in the youth hostel there canny cheap if i remember right about a 20min walk from the town center
