My 11yr old son`s got an Acer Aspire one netbook.
It operates on Linpus Linux Lite.
The tray at the botton which displays the network connection icon/battery display icon/power/log-off icon has disappeared.
A strange rectangular box with a star shape in the centre has appeared on the screen..when the cursor is placed on this a message "NEW ITEM. THIS ITEM HAS NOT BEEN CONFIGURED" appears. No amount of clicking on this box reveals any further.
At the same time it will not access the internet, or even the Network Centre in Settings.
Anyone any idea what might have happened cos it`s doin ma head in!!!
