I am looking into an Electronic Speedo &.tacho for my R65 {84 }
HAve any of you fited and acewell or similar , how simple was it to fit

I'm going to be fitting one myself. Are you using the gearbox pickup Phil?

Thats the crack Rob , I dont know . Do you just use the Gearbox pick up on the Acewell ? and then "Dial in the ratios " ? My idiot lights are all wired thru the Rev counter , ?. Then i read on Adv that the Gen light causes issues ? .. I just dont want to open a can of worms, i cant sort my self.
I am After a Plug and play for monkeys ,,solution.
Flatracer have one , but its small and It £269 of yer finest ! ..
But i need to make room for a bikini fairing..

Civil,
I put Vapor Tech on a friends CCM, and it was quite easy. We used a special bolt which had a magnet glued into the end, on one of the disk bolts. The sensor supplied was glues and cable tied to the inside of the fork leg with about a 2mm gap.
Its worked finr for over 2k miles so far.
The Acewel units can be run similar, or using a electronic drive box off the standard speedo take off. The team a Acewell are very helpfull if you drop them an email.

Ive got a acewell on my airhead
It's been onthere for a while now and seen some rough conditions
I have had no problems at all with it
Just make a good job of the speed pickup...thats the weak point with any of these devices

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but did you get your acewell 'plug and play' loom from bbs, and how much did it cost?

I did get it sorted.
With a Massive amount of Help from Matt at : http://www.bmwboxertoko.nl
I had no confidence in my Electrickery Skills , and i relayed this to Matt .
He asked what i had , I told him , Photographed it , and sent him as much detail as possible .
He sent me back an Acewell Unit with a mini loom he had made for me , so i could simply pug it in .
I did it worked , everything ,first time. No messing. Top Fella , he did what ever extra work for no extra cost
i paid him Eur191 + Post.
IF there is a man in the BMW Airhead world ,From my experience , i could hold my hand on heart and say
HE is a GENUINE Fella. Then it is Matt Beekers . No Question.

i fitted an acewell a couple of weeks back. might even have a diagram of how i did it somewhere :)
