do i rub off the excess on frame tubes or leave it on?
seems to be a magnet for dust

i'd wipe it off frame tubes.

muck does stick to it and your bike will look filthy, but it shouldn't corrode

I would put it on the shelf until late Autumn & use Scottoiler FS365 in the meantime!
