We currently use an old Go-Pro, and by old I mean its about 12 years old.

We do not attach it to the bike, the Mrs holds it when she's riding pillion in case she spots something of interest. Is there anything newer/better on the market for this?

Recommendations greatly appreciated.

Insta 360 X2

iu

I disagree with the Insta.

I own 2 GoPro a model 9 and 11
i own an Insta360 x3 too

The Insta is good as a 360 camera to get B roll footage from behind, side and front/rear wheel images etc
but due to the fact it adds another step to editing its not a good idea to use if its your ONLY camera.

If you are used to GoPro i would suggest another GoPro.
You can get the Hero 8 for £199 right up to the Hero 11 for £349

small compact and can take a few knocks.
you can film underwater straight out of the box
and image quality is superb.

Also i would mount the camera on your helmet, so it films what you look at, rather than get your Mrs to hold it :D

other options
Insta do other cameras which you can read up on such as Insta ONE
DJI do some great cameras too worth considering
Akaso Brave are best budget cameras if you want to save a few quid.
