Adjusting the plastic side panels

My bike went in for a bit of work on the front forks today.

I was not over impressed.

The plastic cap on top of the fork leg was only pushed 3/4 in and might have fallen off if I had not spotted it.

Riding home I noticed that the plastic front side panel they removed to do the work is now sitting about 8mm from the front of the tank, whereas the other panel sits only 2 mm away.

I think I will adjust this myself, but as the front fitting seems tight, where is the adjustment?

Yep took it off to have a look as I didn't know where to push.
The front peg had not been pushed fully home into the rubber grommet.

Sorted now thanks.
