Its a program that lets you read PDF files. PDF files are a type of compression. Acrobat is a must have application, no worries about installing it.

Lets you read PDF files. Designed to enable complete compatibility between various different operating systems and applications. Two main versions available, the reader which is a free download and the writer which creates PDF files – you have to pay for this though. AFAIK there are other PDF readers and writers on the market but Adobe have certainly got the majority of the market with Acrobat. Good product.
