As some of you know, had a bit of an off in the recent "sudden" snow, anyway damaged the pannier, but thought that was it, but on closer inspection realised that we were indeed very lucky, as the engine bars seem to have taken the brunt of the impact, LHS engine bar has snapped near the frame.
So the question is, does anyone know who makes these bars, they came with the BMW so I assume they are either BMW standard ($$) or they are sourced by BM.

Any help appreciated.

You may find your local dealer has a LHS one, albeit with a crack by the end near to the telelever mount. As mine did, and the problem has been reprted a few times IIRC.

hi try james sherlock he brakes all bmws so might have a decent secondhand one . if you do want new go for aftermarket not original rubbish a friend of mine defor on the forum had same thing but his went because of vibration not any major off . Just put in james sherlock in search engine and it will come up .

Brilliant, thanks for that shrek, will get into contact with him, and see what he's got.
Did talk to Matt (I'm really, really bored with my job, please leave me alone) at BMW Parklane, and of course he said that BMW wasn't aware of any problems with their engine bars! Which is a surprise, as I assumed being a service vendor, they would of course offer me a full refund or replacement....

Thanks again for that tip

No probs i find the originals a pain literally i keep banging my leg on right hand top bar when off road as this one sits back slightly further than the left hope js can help .
