Anyone used the inner bags from mane event on their adventure panniers?http://www.maneevent.org.uk/bmw.htm

Do they fit snugly inside the panniers or do you loose out on storage compared to the BMW OE inner bags ? I am assuming of course that due to the price difference teh BMW ones are not only waterproof but also fit well !.

Any picyures with them inside the panniers ?

Any other observations ?

Delivery times etc ?

TIA

Had them and yes they do have a side bag that fits over the exhaust cut-out IYSWIM.

Really quick delivery, and before the cheque was cashed. Gets my :thumb2

Been using these on my 1200gsa for the last year - good bit of kit which fit very well - little or no space is lost.

Not used the BM ones but understand that these are more bulky and so you loose more space.

Delivery from memory was within a week of ordering :thumb

also worth to check out BMW Bob, very good and well made, cheaper than the mane event bags due to dollar and takes 3 days to deliver from US.

Anyone know how much the BMW inner bags are compared to these?

BMW Bob's work out at $155 plus shipping for the set of 3, so seems pretty good but I don't know if they are waterproof

I have the BMW Adventure liners - they are a little bulky, but they are super robust and do keep your kit dry (my panniers have let in some water). They also come with straps that allow you to mount the bags on top of the panniers which can be a great to get some extra storage. They're not cheap... but you get what you pay for :rob

Just had a chat with the ever helpful Simon at Bahnstormer and the BMW kit is
£67.00 a time, so £201 for the lot

Hmmmmmm ...... have to do a bit of thinking now.:bounce1

Its not too difficult to get discount on the liner bags, particularly if you buy them with the machine or luggage. They then compare quite favourably to the aftermarket gear. Compare resale value of the BMW gear and you'll probably find they work out the same price.

The reason I got the BMW stuff was that I understand the panniers not to be waterproof...........no good if they're full of your clothes. None of the aftermarket gear (to my knowledge) claims to be waterPROOF.

Shop around cause you can get them a couple of quid cheaper ( I got mine for £63 each).

Depending on what you carry in your top box, you wont need one for that. My top box is waterproof anway but the panniers aren't  :nenau

I would heartily recommend the BMW liners :thumb I understand that the mainevent ones aren't tho'

i nearly always keep the liner in the top box. it stops things rattling about + it's always there to double the capacity by strapping on the top ;)
