Little bit of help please

Just bought an adventure screen and bits to fit on my 2011 R1200GS, all went on ok only problem is the Clamping bolt, No 2 in the picture. Its not quite long enough to get the nut on the end, I do believe there is a slightly longer one on the gsa but is it necessary or will it be ok without the securing bolt on the end
Cheers Stu

they do have a habit of undoing themselves,if you dont notice in time the first you know is when it falls down the road,do it properly and get the longer knobs asap.

Just use a bolt

Deffo worth fitting the anti-vibration bolt on the inside. The 'Part 2' is just a hex head bolt with an overmoulding pressed onto it. Since you can't adjust the screen by hand without tools it's a bit of a nonsense. You could save yourself a few quid and just use and std bolt without the BMW three pronged moulding unless you're concerned about aesthetics.

All Sorted now after a trip to Williams Manchester

For those of you who are as stupid as me

Please note the clamping Bolt on the 2011 gs is exactly the same length as the gsa model. I just fitted the inside bushing (No 4 in Pic) back to front which meant there wasn't enough thread left to get the locking nut on the end
