I have recently aquired my second R1150GS, but this one is fitted with an Adventure Screen. Can you adjust it or is it stuck in this position?

I don't remember having this much buffeting with the standard screen!

Check out a wondlux screen from SPC. Taller than std screen. Had one on all my bikes.

My 03 1150 GS came with a few Adventure bits as extras, the screen being one of them. It is adjustable, I'm 6'1 and with the seat in the low or high position the so-called buffeting is negligble.
The screen is adjusted by slackening the side mounting bolts/screws and then gently applying pressure either upward or backward depending upon choice, then lock everything tight.

I "opened up" the holes in the Adventure screen, to now they are about 15mm diameter.

By loosening the screws I can move it up and down quite a bit. In winter I put it all high and to the front, summer low and to the back.

This works pretty well for me.

I tried Tobinators lately, but they didn't add much comfort so I removed them. On an Adventure, the Tobinators don't work all that great because the screen is bigger.

If you move the screen to the back, the hand guards bump into the screen before full lock. And the edges of the screen don't allow moving it back far either. They touch the Tobinator "raisers".

So the bigger holes work reasonably. Other (bigger) screens may work too, but I haven't tried any yet. I guess I'll keep it like this.

Cheers,
Michel

Hi John,
It's just the holes that are there. I made them bigger with a file. The only thing you need to look out for, is that you don't make them so big that they show behind the black covering thingy on the outside. That's all there's too it.
Cheers,
Michel
