Adventure tank problems

I've recently bought an Adventure tank for my standard GS.

Firstly the studs holding the pump/filter plate are half knackered.... I can space them out with washers so the nuts go on the best section of thread, but would be happier if the studs were 100%. Can they be replaced?

Also, I don't think the internals are Adv originals, as the two overflow pipes are very small diameter... smaller diameter than the ones on my 2001 GS anyway so they won't fit on the plastic connectors. I can always use the internals from my own 1150 tank ( which are in better condition anyway) Is there any reason (technically) why my 1150 internals won't work?

Would appreciate some advice re: the studs.

i looked at replacing some studs recently and reached the conclusion that it can't be done economically. i suspect you'd need to remove the bulkhead plate they fix to, replace studs, then re-fix bulkhead.

as i only had a std. GS tank, which are way cheaper tha GSA items, i just bought another.

std GS internals will work in a GSA tank but guage & orange light will show empty too soon unless float arm is modded by all accounts.

I replaced a stud on a 1150 tank. The only way to do it is to cut the old stud off and carefully drill down into the old stud, there is sufficient metal inside the tank to allow you to drill and tap for a new stud of the same diameter as the original, I then screwed and brazed a new stud in place, unfortunatly, I didn't get the stud perfectly in line so had to open up the hole in the fuel pump plate slightly. It all worked in the end though. The small amount of paint blistering on the underside of the tank was touched up using genuine BMW touch up paint and laquer.

I'd use the spacers on the original studs if I were you.
