advice for buy y-pipe

Looks as though it's a normal Y-Piece and should fit okay.

Seller has a good feedback, so I'd be happy to buy.

y piece

thanks for your replay and advice.cherrs

If that one does not work out, I have a Y piece which I bought from Nick Marshall of this parish and will sell for £75.

It was previously fitted on a GSA 1150 but was not ideal for my GS as the angle came close to the indicators, so I did not use it. (It is adjustable, however).

PM me if you are interested. I am based in Farnham Surrey.

regards

Simon

I have just bought the one off ebay (american custom exhaust maker) that I think you are talking about. Am about to fit to my 2003 R1150GSA. Will advise if any problems but looks a good quality piece of kit. Also I felt that the flow of the pipework looked better than the Remus. NB/ You can buy the motad for the same price but I get the feeling the guy who is supplying his own custom made model will provide you help if you need it. Came with connectors and extra sleeve included.

I'm lost on this mate - how does your exhaust y-piece come close to the indicators?!

hi siman,
thanks for your mail.please can i see pic of your y-pipe.and whats the name of brand your one..thanks

I fitted one from that ebay seller last night; I have had it over a year and only just got rountuit, slightly different looking so I guess they have updated it (mine doesn't have the extra bracket near the O sensor)
Fitting was really easy and it fitted well, only difficulty was undoing the sensor from the original collector, snapped a wire whilst freeing off the sensor, i would recommend caution whilst undoing the sensor it can be a bit tight, you can't get a ring/socket to it and an open ended spanner will slip :spitfire .

Y-piece

Right - just finished fitting the one off ebay. Fits great. I agree with Shez that whichever you fit, be careful when removing the lambda sensor from the cat. My manual says to remove the tank and then diconnect the sensor before removing the cat - I found it not necessary to do this on my 1150GSA. Managed to sheer my exhaust bracket bolt removing the silencer though:blast.

Also found that the brackets sent with the new y-piece were better than the BMW originals as you can tighten them that bit more.

This y-piece fits extremely well and looking forward to the first test ride on Thursday. No leaks on tickover so don't foresee a problem.:thumb

Just to confirm - the one I got off ebay was made by Pipecraft in Basildon. Ebay name was "sue_lakerise".
