Advice needed on lowering seat height

I'm guessing around 20mm lower, you can see the difference What did you do about the centre stand?

I just kept it as it was, Just a bit more of a pull to get it up. I have also used a small piece of 1" board under the rear wheel to make it easier. You could just get it cut down a bit and the feet welded back on.

Thanks for all the help and advice guys, I think I’m going to try and find a pair of GS shocks with centre stand and give that a try.
Hopefully will ride and feel like the same bike only a bit lower and easier to manoeuvre.
Off to the wanted section, cheers

On my R1100GSI recently fitted a longer torque arm and reduced the thickness of the spacer at the top of the front shock by about 6mm. Overall effect is seat height lowered by 30mm. It's no less massive to manoeuvre and hold up but side stand lean angle is much more sensible and easier to get on and off. Like the Op I am getting on a bit and it has made a big difference to my confidence on the bike.
Interestingly I find I can still get the bike onto the centre stand without too much difficulty so I have not shortened it.

My shocks are away with Denz0 at the moment. New slightly lowered front and service, new lower spring on the rear. Secondhand GS stand sourced and ready to fit when shocks back.
Will update when back in one piece.

Okay, quick update.
Brilliant help and advice from Denz0.
He recommended a slightly lowered YSS shock for the front as standard shock is unservicable. For the rear, a strip down and service together with a new slightly lower uprated spring more suitable for my weight.
I can't beleive the difference in the way the bike feels and I can now get both feet on the ground at the same time!
Side stand is fine and getting it onto the main stand is okay but I have sourced a standard GS stand with the help of another member of this forum so will be changing to that one when I minute or two to sort.
I cannot recommend Denz0 enough for his help and brilliant service, a true gent.
