I have an 04 1200 and on the whole very happy with it.

I bought it in April 06 and under warranty had the front engine plate replaced due to corrosion.
I have noticed it has started bubbling up again and wondered if it would be covered under it's own warranty or whether I will be laughed at if I request it to be changed at the dealers?
Any advice welcomed.

Also just removed the crap catcher and wondered if the long stem that one of the screws was in is removable or if it has to stay there?
Would look much better without it.

Big thanks in advance.

I'd talk to the dealer about the front engine plate. They know its a problem and if the bike is relatively low mileage they'll generally do a deal of somekind i.e. you pay the labour, they supply the part etc. Maybe worth doing, as the part will then come with an ongoing warranty, which is good, as its an ongoing problem.

Re. the crap catcher, YES you can remove the long stem. If I remember you take the rear calliper off remove the fitting. Remember to torque the bolts back up.
