I've bought a second hand bmw motorad 550 zumo second hand on this site and it works ok but the screen is quite badly scratched and you have to press it really hard to make it work. I've emailed garmin but had no reply, is there anywhere I can send it to get it repaired.

I got a replacement digitizer from eBay last year, I think it cost about £10 from Hong Kong and took about 2 weeks to arrive, but I wasn't in a rush. For a few pounds more I could have got one from the UK. I just got the digitizer (the top part of the screen, the touch part) you can get a complete replacement screen for under £20 from the Far East then you wont have to fiddle about prising the digitizer off. If you search through this 550 part of the GPS forum you will find a message with a link to Adventure Rider where there is a 'how to' article with photos on the replacement of the digitizer. It's a bit fiddly, but with care it all goes together OK. One thing to watch out for is the screen size, measure yours to make sure you get the right one they do come in slightly different sizes for some reason. Mine is now fine, a gentle tap or slide of the finger does the business as required. Good luck.
