I've gone ahead and bought a R1200GS 2011 but typically the Mrs was very unhappy about it.......Anyway I am going to need a set of brackets to bring the handlebars back, a seat lowering kit (if that is such a thing) and a sat nav.

Any recommendations and/or advice where to buy would be greatly appreciated

Kindest regards

Jeff

The zumo XT is a great GPS if you’re not keen on BMW NAV V/VI. Mounts available.
Re seat, might be best to see an upholsterer, get yours remade.
ROX do risers, as do other companies.

I guess the upholsterer can take off more than usual because my centre of gravity is very low, at 5ft 6" I am praying that I can actually sit comfortably after the adjustment. I'll take a look at the Zumo XT :)

Rox risers

- will bring the bars up and back , or if you get the multi adjustable, up, back & down

Seats, BMW do a low seat, very comfortable, or Touratech do one but i cant vouch for that one

If you need to go lower, then you need to wind your suspension to the softest setting

Lower than that and its a set of wilburs or oe 30mm lowered , but you will also need to shorten the side & centre stands

If you have electronic adjustable suspension, then you need to get lower springs (30mm) and centre & side stands

Halfords before Tuesday have 10% off. cheapest price.
