I'm looking for advice/ recommendations from fellow GSers on a good tank bag for the GSA, obviously the BM genuine item will fit and is designed for the job, but comes with the inevitable Break My Wallet price tag. The Touratech looks reasonable, but not that much of a saving over the OEM item. The Famsa looks reasonable.... Don't fancy the ones that fit on the filler ring & it needs to be practical in operation (saw one with a bloody silly mechanism for refills) so again experience in that department will be useful. Cheers in anticipation :beerjug:

Well, yer going to get a whole load of replies saying I've got 'x' one and I like it!

so .... !

I have the touratech one, have used it regularly for tha last two years with absolutely no problems and everything is working fine. (zips, velcro, straps ..). It's big enough to take those 'to hand' items when yer touring / day tripping, but small enough to take off the bike and walk around with over your shoulder ..

Gets my vote, but pretty subjective 'cos I haven't tried the others .. :thumb2

Baglux

I've got the baglux tank cover/bag holder on my bike - this in itself is great for full tank protection. (Also, just fitted a 'pust to talk' button to the handlebars and the socket runs behind the side cover and appears by my groin - I was able to leave a fair bit of slack cable (so that I can still stand up on the pegs if I want) because I can tuck the loop of surplus behind the strap that holds the tank cover to the tank.)

The Cross'r tank bag is brilliant, very light but durable/well made.

The only niggle (and it's probably the same with all tank bags) is taking it off to fill with fuel.

Around £200 isn't cheap of course! but I wouldn't want to be without them.

SW Motech... simple, brilliant.

Having had several tank bags on the 1200GS, the advantage of the ones (as above) that fit on the filler ring is that (a) they are really secure, (b) are very easy to remove, and (c) can be electrically powered without separate cables to connect/disconnect.

And... having sold my 1200GSA, I happen to have one of these wonderful tankbags for sale, see http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3060557
