Hi,
I have this jacket
teknic_freeway_yellow_jkt_LG.jpg

and needless to say with riding all year round it's got pretty grubby. Sponging down doesn't get the dirt off, and it can't be dry cleaned. It says hand wash only, but even doing that will make it lose it's waterproofing.
So what's the best way to wash it, and can you get a good spray or something to put on afterwards to get the waterproofing back?

Cheers

I'm guessing you'll need to us something like Nikwax....just use like washing liquid, and it waterproofs your kit. :thumb2

Here says you're wrong about the waterproofness:

Waterproofing no idea at all, but the washing, oh yes, make sure you take it off...

Nikwax Techwash is good - read the instructions though

Thanks for the advice, think I'll try the techwash. Might even try it in the washing machine as our washer has a handwash cycle

Nikwax Tech wash/TX.Direct Spray-on

Washed my Hein Gericke Cruise in the bath with appropriate amounts of Nikwax Tech wash. Cleaned up well.

Made the mistake, I think, of washing in the TX.Direct in the bath as well.
Jacket not nearly as breathable as the inside is now 'waterproofed'.

So buy the TX.Direct Spray-on bottle.

No complaints about the jacket's waterproofness, as a two week stint around Scotland proved.

Remember, if purchasing from Cotwolds, 15% discount applies at the till.

Well worth the effort, just rinse well.
