Can anyone help me.

Today I got a call from Touratech to say my engine bars have arrived. I thought to myself that as the 1200's only two months old, I'll treat myself to some nice quality Torx or TX bits for my socket set, rather than running the risk of chewing up any fasteners with my cheapo keys when I try?? to fit them.

Went out and bought a set of 3/8ths Teng bits but to my disappointment, I now realise is that the fastener into the engine that attaches the rear trellis frame is larger than the TX50. So I'll have to buy one extra bit for this one.

What size is it? TX55 or larger?

Is it likely that any of the fasteners that I'm likely to have to work on have very high torque settings. There's a very meaty 8mm bolt high up on the engine that's just above the telelever, about 8mm.

Any advice very much welcome

Thanks
Steve

Isn't that bolt that attaches the rear frame the engine an Allen type (ie a hex key) ? I'm sure it is on my bike.

Or am I getting confused, and the original bolt is a torx, but the engine bars come with a replacement hex type?
