My left hand heated grip on my 1150GS melted down a while ago and I'm in the process of installing a relacement.
It looked like it was going to be a doddle but I've been tripped up by the wiring, which is routed out of the inside of the grip, through the bars and out of a hole on the underside of the bars just near the yoke. When I take the old grip off and try to pull the wire back through the bar, it disappears through the hole on the underside of the bars and then seems to get snagged inside about three inches up.
Anyone had the same problem?
I've got some thread tied to the wire so that I can pull the wiring for the replacement back through and maybe that's what's making it snag, but the knot isn't very big and is narrower than the connectors fixed on the ends of the wire so it shouldn't be a problem. Is there something I should be removing/undoing that I've missed?!
Any thoughts welcome...
