Aerostich suits?

What's the big deal with these suites then?

Please someone enlighten me because to me they look hideous, I would be afraid to be seen mowing the lawn in one, let alone scratching around Mid Wales! :mmmm

Get dressed as you wish, go to suit, out on over regular clothes in like 30 seconds with boots on, lid gloves, you are ready to go.

Also, safety features are extensive, top abrasion tests. They light up in the dark, they are fully waterproof (they really are) and everyone that buys one, never wears other gear.

Check out their website at aerostich.com (Customer service is execptional)

O, and you can bid for one on this site, all monies to charity

Aerostich

They are the best the US has to offer and leak extensively at the crotch...
Like a GS take about 15000 miles to run-in.
Kinda like the HG Tuareg suit insofar as they have become a Uniform for a particular type of rider.
Very me too!!!
If you like the "Club" feeling of inclusion...
I currently have a Darien jacket and it is a fine piece of kit, though.

What is this crotch problem people talk about? In the 2 years that I had it, I rode through a few downpours ... and no wet crotch!!! Me thinks ... User Error!

Only time it failed was after I washed it and did not reapply the waterproofing stuff properly ... and that only effected the outer pockets. The insides were still dry from the Gore Tex layer.

Other "failing" has been wet trousers (right at the bottom) where water has splashed upwards.

It is a good suit, although I do see too many clean ones about (fair weather bikers :D ).

The crotch moistness is because of the folds of material you can get if you don't sort it out as you sit down.

Water can puddle in the fold and as there's a zip there, will osmote through it and pickle your walnuts.

Same with the zip flap down the chest...if you don't smooth it down onto the velcro properly, you can leave rucks that will let water in and it'll creep through the zip there as well.

If 'battened down' properly though, it's as good as any other suit I've ever tried, including the BWM Streetguard (apart from for fording.....there's no way you can submerse a zip for too long and have it remain watertight, but that's me own fault for being a kiddy in water :D

Try Multifabs up in Aberdeen. Finest purveyors of quality aviation immersion suits. Big zip and supposed to be waterproof, cost about £450 and available in a variety of designs and colours :D
