ive decided to order one what is the cheepest way to get one into the country, apart from flying to the states and picking it up your self or getting someone to bring you one back and take the chance of not getting stopped. if you have it sent to a company address will coustoms still come seaking ££££'s:nenau

Customs will intercept it when it enters the country - or rather the carrier will be required to declare it to Customs. No commercial carrier will take the risk of getting caught fiddling the system, so the suit won't make it as far as the delivery address until you've paid the duty. As far as I'm aware, because it's import duty rather than just VAT, coming to a company address won't remove that element of it.

When I ordered mine last year , I toyed with the idea of asking an friend from the States who was coming over later in the year to bring it with him. After a bit of consideration we decided this was smuggling and probably not worth the risk. Plus, I would have needed to drive to Heathrow (his port of entry) to collect it which would have cost nealy the same amount as the duty in petrol.

I think there are some allowances for gifts but I can't recall th elimits. They're not very high from memory.

You've probably looked already, but the above link will tell you more if you cna be bothered to go through it all. If there was an easy way to get round this, I suspect those fine gentlemen at Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs would already have plugged the hole.

If you're going to the States anyway, I suppose it would make sense to collect it while you're there. Assuming you have enough space in your luggage, of course.

Good luck!

Mine is getting sent to my girlfriends aunty, who is sending it to me as a gift.I should get it this week,so I'll let you know what happens:thumb

Just out of interest, how much and how good are these suits?

I can see the appeal for me as I often us my bike to commute and wearing a suit under it could be useful. Giali also do a similar product for about £350, and is waterproof, but I have not read any reviews on their build standards, so....
