Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows where I could have alterations made to my roadcrafter suit. I have been in touch with a couple of places in GB but if there was somewhere more local
I wouldn't have thought that there is a significant difference to making adjustments to a 'stich than to any other garment for a competent seamstress/tailor.
The material is thicker, heavier and so on, but they do alterations on heavy materials and leather coats, barbours etc.
I think my first port of call would be Mrs Miggins the little old lady who sits in the back of the local haberdasher's , hunched over a 35 year old Singer sewing machine, replacing zips on flies and so on day in day out.....I've never tried it, but i'd lay money that the result would be as good and a LOT cheaper than sending it off to a 'bike kit specialist'.
Try The Zip Yard, several shops near you. I've used them for various repairs and found them to be excellent. The shop on Belfast's Belmont Road is full of particularly lovely Polish ladies who are expert seamstresses and smile knowingly at you as they stitch up yer breeks

I used the one in Newry in the summer. I left in a dress to be shortened, paid over £8 up front. Put it on to go out one and night and they apperared not to have touched it at all. Still trailing the ground
