I'm buying a house in north Norfolk (permanent home, not holiday/2nd home!) which needs gutting and refitting. I'm not currently local so I'll need to stay locally one or two nights a week, proly for 3 months from April. Can't afford commercial north Norfolk accommodation prices so just wondering if anyone on here's got a more affordable space they could rent me? Non smoker! Flexible on location as long as I'm within 45 mins of north Norfolk.
Cheers
Andy

As it’s only one or two nights a week, over three months. Buy a cheap caravan and live in it on site, perhaps?

Sell it (or burn it) at the end.

My father did that in the 60’s for entirely the same reason, all be it it was for longer than three months.

Inland is cheaper, air BnB probably the best option
We moved here a year ago, best thing we 've done,

There is, or was, a subscriber to the forum who had a holiday let (I think on the north coast). A search might turn it up.

Has the internet reached this part of Norfolk?

If so, have you tried a local Facebook group. Someone might be willing to have a part time lodger for a bit of pin money. Just be careful if they offer you the wood shed.

It’s out of season, how about trying the mobile home holiday sites

We sold our flat in Sheringham when we moved to Norfolk permanently in 2024.
You may struggle to find anywhere near the coast that doesn’t already have several bookings during your proposed stay. As already suggested, you will have more chance by looking inland. Swaffham area may be good as the road heading towards the coast via Fakenham is, for Norfolk, a fast route. Swaffham to Wells is 36 mins.

Unfortunately over the last 15/20 years anything with a roof and four walls in North Norfolk was bought by people from London and the south east as 2nd homes or as investments as holiday lets. I am quite surprised the Elizabeth line didn't terminate in "Chelsea by sea" (Burnham Market). As previously said a country "chalet" probably near Swaffham or Dereham would be your best bet. Just bare in mind the roads are challenging and public transport non-existent, as for parking a caravan good luck with that. Best of luck with your quest.
