ok, i've done the front and rear peg lowering, i've ordered the mra screen (3 week delivery)

apart from getting out on the damn thing, what next? although i'm not in the habit of chucking money about, should i go for an aftermarket exhaust?

i hear the performance wont be dramatically different (but put me right if i'm wrong) - do most people fit the exhaust just for the noise?

if i do decide to go ahead, which product?

Ian, just dump the catylytic converter and spend your hard earned on a Y piece. It'll make a big difference in performance. All an aftermarket can will do is make it sound a bit rortier. However you pays yer money an' takes yer choice.

Happy riding.

Performance will be improved by ditching the cat and fitting a Y-piece. There won't be much, if any, difference to the top-end performance, but there will be a 5 - 7 hp increase in the mid-range, and a more bike-like sound.

It'll pull like a train from waaaaaay down in the rev range, and give smoother delivery all the way up. It also helps with any surging, if such a thing exists ;) .

It'll save a great deal of weight as well.

Changeing the end can will make little difference beyond this, other than giving a great sound.

I've got a Remus Y and race can, but Sebring (available from Bracken) are cheaper, and made in the same factory.

Any help?

Steve.

Taylors,

try approaching it from the other direction. What do you want to achieve? Once you've sorted that, come and ask how to do it.....

Remus Y piece and Revolution end can

After much headscratching and debate on the message board, ( see ' convince me to fit a Y piece etc' I took the plunge and fitteda Remus Y piece and Titanium end can.

Its the best mod ever. Very different bike, loads loads more mid range. E gear could only be used realistically above 70 without bogging down. It now pulls as low as 50 AND accelerates away in E gear.

Sound is awesome without being offensive. Loss of weight a real bonus. The remus system was really easy to fit so long as you are methodical. No air leaks, no backfires. everything lines up perfectly without bending straining or other jiggery pokery.

Just do it!! I shopped around for mine and found the best prices at Apex leisure at Preston. They have a website and very efficient mail order and Jo, the bird on the end of the phone, knows what she is talking about. Top service, top product.

If you want any specific help let me know I have a stage by stage removal and assembly fact sheet.

Cheers David:beerjug:

I can only agree with what has been said already; get rid of the CAT and go for a Y piece.

I fitted both the Y and Remus (race) end can. When I rolled up at my local dealer they spotted the exhaust and told me a story about a relatively new bike that had a prang and the insurers wouldn't pay out coz it had a non standard exhaust systemBEWARE :(

I managed to persuade my insurers to cover me with a Y and standard end can. They wouldn't touch the Remus and even cancelled my insurance until I could convince them I wouldn't use it!!

I found the strait-through Remus can annoyingly noisy to ride with anyway, I was pleased to have a good reason to take it off:p

Anyone want to buy a second hand Remus end can, ally finish??

Play Time

Hi Ian as Mark says you are from our neck of the woods. If you can get along to our next ride out you can have a listen to my setup ( Y Piece and Revolution Can ) and see all the other additional parts that are fitted on various bikes.
