Howdy all, apologies for so many questions, but I got a lot to learn.

Ive just bought an 09 R1200 GS SE from Tom Conway Motorcycles :) very excited.

He's offering a after care plan with someone called motoprotect which I can't find much info about... £135 for a years cover, up to £1k per claim.

On one hand it seems a sensible thing as I've not bought from a approved used, but at the same time, could just be a complete waste.

Yay or Nay?

Can't speak re the actual deal you have been offered but...........I bought a year old 2007 GSA and when the initial warranty came to an end after a lot of 'umming and aaahing' I took up the extended warranty with BMW for £33 per month (which seems a lot) but after paying for 18 months my driveshaft went (£1500) replaced under the warranty. I have been paying it for 3 years now I think and I am still about £300 up. Mine covers recovery for Europe too which is handy.

I know you can put money away every month to cover any unexpected costs but........will you? and as far as I am concerned £33 p/month seems a lot more affordable and less of a shock than being hit with £1500.

I am sure a lot of others with FAR more experience and knowledge than me will say it doesn't make good financial sense and at the end of it all I guess only you can decide if it is worth it to you. :)
