Somewhere for people to add their photos etc.

Thanks to all 32(?) bikes that set out and how ever many finished :)

Someone omitted to bring the 45 degree set-square at the start! :augie

By the time we got to Woodhenge, it had really gone to rats!

Good day out! :thumb2

Had a nice ride back down here via the Deverells and over the top near Mere before getting onto the tedious A303.

I haven't viewed the movie footage yet, maybe one or two YouTube uploads to follow.

This is my aftermath, what a great day and thanks to Clive. This little 650 made me feel really confident and its a real cracker. More thoughts on the bike in the 650 single section soon. My only photos are when I got home.

The riding and trails were almost all pretty good going. The one section that was rutted and muddy was better to do in the old ruts but I found myself right behind Clive and my first off road ride became a real fun day. I followed him and was watching his GSA sliding and bouncing through other muddy ruts along with another GS'er and just had to follow, before I knew it I was no longer a novice.

My top novice tips - if in doubt twist throttle, if back end is sliding twist throttle, if losing front end then twist throttle. :)

Note the two 'big uns' walking back from de-rutting a GS down the track. Clive and Wadham. It took three to Tango. Best to have three riders on a GS ride out to drag bikes from Ruts.

Who was it in that rut. Best off of the day surely

:):)

Had done this ride before and realise that it would probably be best to do it by myself :D

I still don't know much about these white horses. They do look pretty and all look pretty much the same.

I ended up at a crap pub last year .. so wasn't going to make that mistake again this year.

Maybe I will try those byways next year

I still don't understand how this ride out attracts 30 odd new people each year :nenau .. it was great roads.

We all have our own little Everests to climb.

A challenge like this to look forward to or remember, is what makes life bearable for a married man with or without three kids.

(sorry ladies, really did not mean it at all, just a huge mistake, I will do the washing up tonight.):eyesdown

No pics ... but

... big :thumb to Clive for organising a nice sunny day, organising the routes, the gps files and for leading everyone on the day.

Also a thank you to whoever was sweeping :thumb

Clive

Thanks very much for taking the trouble to organise this, the stupid, inane grin above stayed all day:D:D and it was good to meet everyone.

See you at the next ride or Thursday meet.

Peter

New helmet Pumpy? Very nice. Was that the lovely sunset we had the other day, caused by the dust released when Possu opened his wallet? :D

Clive

Thanks for taking the time to organise this. Althought I suspect it wasn't an onerous task ;)

I may well have been the only one who enjoyed the ruts :D

I got home at 5.30 and promptly fell asleep for an hour and a half I was that knackered.

Then up to wash the bike and now wifey's put dinner on the table and a beer in my hand.

Does it get any better?

todays ride out

clive,

thanks for a great day. Considering the number of bikes It went really well.

Nice to meet a lot of great GSers all in one place. The off road was just right for my road tyres.
Had me kip. Had me dinner. Had me beer.
Come here woman

couple of photos to have look at

Another great day out with Clive's Tours and a big thankyou to Jeremy and others for helping me out when the "particularly nasty rut" decided it didn't want me riding in it anymore. Nice photo.
Will post some of my photos later when I can work out how to do it but I'm knackered now and in need of a beer.

Hi Clive, thanks for letting us POGO's come along, even if I did bail on Salisbury Plain. Wish I'd stayed with you guys, Simon & Dave dragged me through some nasty green water - memo to self, keep mouth well and truly closed when riding thru it!

Really enjoyed myself! Definitely up for more!

The only photos I took were from Roundway Down byway.

In all the excitement, someone forgot to adjust the zoom on the camera

Never mind, we'll just have to go back and do it again :)

I'm gutted I couldn't join you all today - does anyone have a Mapsource track of the route taken today?

I don't have a track but the Mapsource Route was posted here
also following the byway routes shown in that file.
Note that we followed the Ridgeway from The Sanctuary to Hackpen/Barbury Castle - not shown as a route in that file, but obvious once you are on it :)

Thanks

Hi Clive

Thanks for organising a really great day out and for the group accommodating/accepting the ‘roadies’( Fazer/FJR) and waiting for us to catch you up. Brilliant day :D:D:D:D:D

Thanks again Guys :thumb2
