Do BMW have or produce a list of engine nunbers and modesl they relate to?

I ask as my GS is imported from Germany and got a V-reg here. It's all UK kosher, but the books are in German. I can buy the handokks and technical books from Motorworks, but there are 3 technical & two owners listed for 1150GS in the catalogue, upto '99 after '99 and twin-plug.

In my Suzuki days I could tell the model number from a nice chart they produced for every model, that a certain number was for example an A model GT750, and another series of numbers an M model or whatever.... Any such luck with BMW?

I would like to get the right English tech handbook!

service manual

Can do you a copy of the C/D service manual if you want one, and I'm sure I have a spare owners manual some were, but its for an 02.

Paragon, you were right. I was reading the number off my log book, so that will need to be corrected. Interesting to note that my 1150 was manufactured in February 1999. I seem to recall they were not introduced to the market until August 1999.
