Big thanks to Rob for his patience (I'm nominating him for a Sainthood, lol).
Turns out that the secondhand barrel that was bought when Bertha had her big engine rebuild, was knackered. Strangely it looks pretty good, but clatters like ball bearing in a tin can. You'd never know to look at it, but wow, robs replacement barrel instantly quitened her down.
Unfortunately we found knackered head bearings, a noisey timing chain and a leaky gearbox too
We are gonna try and get my barrel sorted and another beer and pizza session later, we should be rockin
Ooh, and the indicator module has now decided to play up too. lol.
Airheads, gotta love em

Already had a few offers to exchange the old girl, but it ain't gonna happen.
Realistically the bike would probably have done 1000's of more miles, but I really couldn't live with the clatter.
She's hopefully gonna be running like a beaut for the gentlemens weekend.
Mucho thanky yooos Rob, you are the toppest of top geezers
