I very rarely use a horn, but the other day a cage driver, who was right beside me on a dual carriage way, started to change lanes without looking or indicating straight into my space. We had been running parallel for 1/2 mile or so:blast

I find the horn, to say the least, a little feeble; but it worked.

So I decided to fit the air horns that I had on my last bike. There is not much space on the LC, however I was able to get it in under the bodywork.
The trumpet had to be shortened a bit, but it only raised the tone a little bit.

Now the bike horn will really wake up people like that.

First the bodywork had to be removed.
Picture 1 Shows the compressor mounted on the left hand side above the radiator, using one of the original bolts & a short staright flat bracket. The relay can just be seen above the compressor, mounted on the 2nd bolt.
Picture 2 Another view.
Picture 3 Shows the trumpet, mounted on the left-hand headlight bolt. The trumpet had to lose the flared end to get it to fit.
Picture 4 Shows the short bracket holding the trumpet to the headlight.
The relay is operated by splicing into the horn cable just by the horn itself.
A fused power line was taken straight from the battery terminals.
The trumpet will have to be painted matt black at another time.
If others are looking for space to fit another horn, this may help.

Apart from actually overtaking something, you'll never ever find me sitting alongside something :thumb2

Looks a good job on the air-horn though ... :thumb2

We were in a 40, both doing about 40. Nowhere to go, car in front car behind, in the inside lane. No hard shoulder, only a curb.

There is always the option to drop the throttle a few seconds to create a gap that YOU can manage.

Horns and loud pipes are fine, but you seen how many people drive with earphones in nowadays? Pisses me right off.

Four hours on a speed awareness course in January following a speeding ticket reset my riding style or maybe just reminded me of the need to apply those Roadcraft Skills :)
